About
I’m Alyssa Frederick and I am a novice at MAC rowing. Although this is my first year, I already love my team and have formed lifetime friendships. MAC Rowing is a nationally prominent club rowing team for high school kids in the L.A. area, with over 120 members from 25+ high schools. We have a lot of fun, we work really hard and we go extremely fast.
What I’m Raising Money For
My team is raising money for a number of things which include a sleek new 8-oared racing shell. These boats are state-of-the-art. They're mostly made of carbon fiber and are designed to be stiff, light, and fast in the water. They're also very expensive, which is why we need your help to get the boat of our dreams!
Why You Should Give
Winning boat races isn't what this is all about. It's what we are learning about ourselves and about being a part of something larger than just ourselves as individuals. It's about finding strength we never knew we had, overcoming obstacles that seemed insurmountable at first, and becoming the best versions of ourselves. It's also about friendship, family, perseverance, self-sacrifice, and hard work. We do all that in carbon fiber racing boats. So you're not just contributing to a boat that might help us win a race some day - you're helping us grow, thrive, and develop the confidence, strength, and resilience that is characteristic not just of good athletes, but of exceptional people.
