About
Team 980 ThunderBots is pert of the FIRST Robotics Competition. In these competitions, anywhere around 40 different teams compete in matches. In these matches are six teams, with two teams of randomly assigned alliances. Alliances must work together to score more points than the opposing alliance. After many matches, the top teams chose two other teams to be in an alliance with them to compete for a place in the championships. The alliance that wins will go onto championships and compete against other alliances there.
What I’m Raising Money For
To get a robot to competitions, we have to design and make it from scratch. This isn't cheap. We need a lot of parts and materials to put together a robot that won't just move, but do things such as shooting balls into hoops, grabbing and placing cones and cubes on high shelves, or even pulling itself up into the air using bars above it! To be ready to build a robot that can do things like this when our season starts in January, we need a lot of money.
Why You Should Give
Previously, we had enough sponsors in big companies to pay not only for the items for the robot, but also the fees for competitions. However, we lost multiple of the sponsors and need help to raise enough money for everything we need.
