About
FIRST Robotics Competition Team 980 ThunderBots, a 501(c)(3) public charity, inspires high school students to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) fields. We build competitive robots, immersing our students in a focused, hands-on product development cycle, followed by intense competitive events.
What I’m Raising Money For
We will use your important donations for unique pieces, tools, and supplies to form our robot for the “Spark Team 980’s Infinite Recharge” Challenge. We are a team, and we would use your donations for a special robot that will help us hold memories throughout this challenge. Our team members are working hard to get to the $5,000 kickoff goal!
Why You Should Give
In a period when highly-skilled technical staff is in high-demand, few programs inspire high school students to choose high-tech career paths like FIRST. Our team members learn the critical life-skills allowing them to succeed in technical careers. In addition, FIRST Robotics Competition students are eligible for millions of dollars in scholarships to leading colleges and universities.
