About

Hi, my name is Maria Paredes, and I am a current junior at Central Park East High School. I am a person that finds the sciences and maths fascinating. There is always something new to discover. I enjoy understanding complex ideas in these subject areas.

What I’m Raising Money For

I am currently applying to a 2- week summer internship program at a hospital in New York City. In the veterinarian section of the program I am applying to, I will be in a hospital helping veterinary staff with some of their work while getting a hands-on experience in clinical cases. In addition, I will be doing weekly didactic sessions where I will be doing presentations on the clinical studies. This program also has college readiness workshops where I will be getting more information about the college process as a rising senior. This program will expand my basic knowledge on science as well as language skills.

Why You Should Give

Ever since I was young, I have been interested in becoming a doctor in order to help others. I don’t yet know what field in medicine I want to enter, but I do know is that I want to make a change in someone or something’s life. Doing this program will help make the path I want to go down clear.
