About
FIRST Robotics Competition Team 980 ThunderBots, a 501(c)(3) public charity, inspires high school students to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) fields. We are a FIRST Chairman's Team building competitive robots and immersing our students in a hands-on, six-week product development cycle, followed by intense competition events.
What I’m Raising Money For
Funds raised by our "FRC Team 980 Launches into 2019!" Challenge will be used to purchase parts, materials, and supplies for building our robot. Our students are working hard to exceed our $5,000 kickoff goal!
Why You Should Give
I have learned a lot from my time on Team 980 thus far. I've worked with expert mentors to help build a competition robot, created an app and published it on Google's Play Store, worked with elementary and middle school students to teach them how to build LEGO robots of their own, and traveled across California and even to St. Louis and Houston to participate in competition events. This experience has been amazing - even life-changing- and I feel other students should have the same opportunity that I have to learn these skills. Supporting Team 980 will allow it to continue providing experiences such as these to me and many other students in the greater Burbank area, and beyond!
