About
My name is Emma Bernou. This is my fifth year rowing for Artemis Rowing Club. This is my last year with Artemis as I will be graduating in the spring to attend Oregon State University and to be a part of their rowing team. Last year, we were lucky enough to be able to qualify for the USRowing Youth National Championships in Sarasota, Florida. My boat ended up coming home with a silver medal, making us the second fastest youth women's pair in the nation. It took a lot of hard work to get there, and we are hoping to be able to do it again this year.
What I’m Raising Money For
We are raising money to fund our scholarship program as well as to purchase new (and gently used) boats, trailers, boat engines, safety equipment, parts and tools to maintain our equipment in good working order. Artemis is in particular need of new Trainer 8 boats (approximate cost $10,000), training ergs (approximate cost $1,000) and monies to fund Fall/Spring Season scholarships for eligible students.
Why You Should Give
Rowing has taught me leadership and strong time management skills that I believe are going to benefit me throughout my entire life. I have been fortunate to be a part of this team as it has helped me to grow and mature into the person that I am today. Our goal as a team is to help anyone who wants to row to be able to do so. We offer scholarships to those in need and any help that you can give helps us continue to grow our young program.
