About
As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, we aim to empower and set UC Davis women up for success on and off the water. As a non-profit sports club, our team does not receive funding from the university. This is why fundraisers like these are so important for our team. On November 5th, our athletes will take turns rowing on ergometers for 12 consecutive hours for our annual Erg-A-Thon fundraiser. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, all donations made through Piggybackr are tax deductible.
What I’m Raising Money For
The money we raise from our Erg-A-Thon will go towards helping our team fund equipment purchases, repairs, and team travel costs.
Why You Should Give
Our team is excited to be on the water, training hard, and looking forward to winning big this year. Like many non-profits and student sports clubs, a large part of our success comes from our supporters. Unfortunately, our rowers’ dues are not enough to cover all the costs needed to keep our competitive club moving forward at full speed. The team must rely on the support of friends, family, and alumni to fund necessary costs, such as regatta and travel fees, equipment repairs and purchases, and our hard-working coaches’ salaries. These costs can range from $45k for a new 8+ boat to $600 for each athlete’s flight to nationals with our goal being to bring as many as 29 athletes. The funds we raise help keep our boats moving and our team winning. With your support, we are able to introduce new women to the wonderful sport of rowing and allow them to compete on a national level regardless of experience.

UCD Women's Rowing Erg-A-Thon Update

Thank you to everyone who has donated to our Erg-A-Thon fundraiser so far! We are just over $1,000 away from reaching our goal! On Saturday, our team kept 2-3 ergs running for 12 hours, completing a total of 326,585 meters, to raise money for travel, equipment, and uniform costs. Rowing Fundraising
Update from Laura Bennett
Dear friends & family, As some of you might know, I am on the Women's Rowing team at UC Davis! My involvement on the team has provided a community of hard-working, passionate, and powerful women who strive to succeed both on and off the water. My team and I are raising money for our annual Erg-A-Thon event, where we will take turns rowing on ergometers (indoor rowing machines) for 12 consecutive hours. These machines are typically used for conditioning and, of course, to conduct the dreaded 2k tests. This year’s Erg-A-Thon will take place on November 5th, and we will live-stream it on our Instagram (@ucdwrowing). Any donation helps keep our amazing program, which allows us to grow as rowers and individuals, thriving. As a non-profit sports club, we do not receive funding from the university. We rely on fundraisers like these to raise the money necessary to cover the costs of equipment and travel. Fortunately, as a registered 501(c)(3) public charity, any donation you make to our team is tax deductible.
