About
Cascadilla Boat Club is a competitive rowing program which trains rowers that later go on to rower for Division 1 colleges and the highest levels of the sport. CBC allows everyone to get this experience, with no cuts, and scholarships for rowers who otherwise cannot afford to join the team. We rely on this fundraiser to allow for these scholarships.
What I’m Raising Money For
Cascadilla Boat Club is holding its annual Ergathon on Saturday, April 6th. Rowers will take shifts on rowing machines (ergs), with each varsity athlete rowing as many meters as he or she can in one hour. First-year rowers will row for 30 minutes. Cornell Rowing Club members will also be doing an hour of power rowing. We're raising money to fund scholarships for our middle- and high-school-age programs, to offset the costs of all of our programs and to purchase new sweep and sculling shells and related equipment. Our rowers will also be pulling for another great cause: SPCA of Tompkins County.
Why You Should Give
Your donation helps two excellent causes: 90% of each donation goes toward the scholarships and equipment that support our thriving and important youth rowing program. The remaining 10% helps the SPCA of Tompkins County in their mission to care and find new homes for rescue animals at their no-kill shelter. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, so your donation is tax deductible.
