P.S./I.S. 226 - Mission Statement
The members of the P.S./I.S. 226 community are passionate about empowering students to achieve their fullest academic, social and emotional potential. Through rigorous, data-driven instruction, we are committed to providing a nurturing learning environment to ensure that all of our students are challenged and engaged. Promoting high standards and expectations, the teachers, administrators, families and the community equally share the responsibility for advancing the school's mission.
Vision Statement
At P.S./I.S 226, we believe that the greatest impact on student achievement results from having highly expert, inspired, and passionate teachers and school leaders working together to maximize the effect of their teaching on all students in their care.
What I’m Raising Money For
We are raising money to support our wonderful music and art teachers as they lead our students through musical productions and art expositions. We need to soundproof the band room, purchase and maintain musical instruments, and purchase art supplies like paints and canvases.
Why You Should Give
P.S./I.S 226 is a pre-kindergarten through eight grade school serving over 1000 Brooklyn students of Italian, Spanish, Chinese descent including many new immigrants from Eastern Europe and the Middle East. We have an accelerated program for high performing students and fully include many students with special needs. We want to provide our students with a first class education that includes the arts.
