HBRA is a non-profit, community rowing club for ages 11 and up. Our goal is to give everyone in Humboldt county a chance to row and compete across the country. Our programs offer recreation and fitness, leadership and team work opportunities, and an outlet for youth after school as well as a chance to learn about one of the oldest sports in America. More information about our team can be found at hbra.org. I have been rowing for a little over a year and it has been one of the most educational and life-changing experiences of my life. You gain a lot of insight on what work ethic and teamwork truly is. We get the chance to connect with many people across the county who are just as passionate as we are about this sport.
We would like to purchase a new four-person rowing shell and supporting rowing equipment that we need to practice and compete.
HBRA provides amazing opportunities for education, competition, recreation, and character building. It teaches us lots of skills that we will use later in life and can help pave the way to college for many. The team has a huge impact on everybody involved and is an important part of the community.
