About
My name is Tanvi Barman and I have been going to homeless shelters since I was 7, helping in different service activities. My joy in working service projects that helped needy children led to a curiosity one day when I asked my parents, “Why don’t these kids celebrate a birthday like many of us do?” The response was sad and simple -- homeless children are raised in an environment of instability, where parent(s) are struggling to make ends meet and their priority is only centered on fulfilling basic needs. Lack of special birthday celebrations for these underprivileged children leads to further 'homelessness' and insecurity for them as they are deprived of the normal upbringing every child deserves.
This sparked the idea to start the “No Birthday Left Behind” program with the goal to bring a smile to a homeless child every time. I started this program in 2016 with one homeless shelter and moved on to few others. Now, my goal is to grow this program to the next level.

What I’m Raising Money For
I am raising money with the sole mission to bring a smile to a needy child on her/his birthday!
1) I work with shelters to get each nominated child's birthday planned;
2) In turn, I also work with local vendors to help make birthday packages (pizza, cake) possible;
3) Next, I plan age-appropriate party activities and decorations for the event. A birthday party package for a deserving child includes themed decorations, cake, pizza, special gift, balloon and birthday activity. 'No Birthday Left Behind' team also gives party favor bags to all shelter children attending the event to make it extra special.
Raising money will help me support the goal of every child getting a memorable birthday party event!!

It is my aspiration is to provide every needy and suffering child an opportunity to celebrate their birthday (special day!) just like a child within a normal family environment.
With your donations and support, I can offer better birthday 'cheer' packages to underprivileged children and reach more shelters/children all over America.

Saw your story in the news. Birthdays are a big day in our house and it hurts to know these children don’t get what they deserve. Such a great cause. We give our full candy bars at Halloween because they bus kids to our neighborhood. The first year I moved here I said to a neighbor wow I can’t believe it he turned to me and said many of these kids don’t get a birthday or Christmas. That really made me think. So from that Halloween on I promised to have full size candy bars, maybe it will give those kids a smile and hope. -
