About
Artemis Rowing Club located at Jack London Aquatic Center in Oakland CA offers Middle School, Novice and Varsity Rowing programs to local East Bay youth grades 6-12. We offer needs based scholarships for low- to moderate-income youth. Artemis' highly experienced coaching staff lead this program with a culture designed to develop our athletes to their full capacity physically, technically, mentally and socially by fostering healthy competition, teamwork and focus. Artemis is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, EIN 46-2227777. * We encourage and gratefully accept corporate matching of employee donations -- ask your company about charitable giving to local community youth programs. ** Artemis Rowing Club thanks CruFIT for once again hosting the Ergathon event. CruFIT is located at 6125 Medau Place, Oakland (Montclair District) 94611.
What I’m Raising Money For
Artemis is growing! More athletes, more coaches, and an expanded boat bay in 2019. We need to acquire more boats - all classes - and equipment to accommodate our growth. Our Annual Ergathon raises money to fund our scholarship program for athletes as well as to purchase new (and gently used) boats, trailers, boat engines, safety equipment, parts and tools to maintain our equipment in good working order. This year's Ergathon fundraising goal is $22,500. In addition, we are running a capital campaign to raise additional funds to acquire boats. See the Sponsor Levels on this page for more information on our fundraising goals.
Why You Should Give
Rowing is an amazing sport that develops important skills for a lifetime. Rowers learn to go beyond their own expectations, and will develop a sense of teamwork and responsibility. Artemis relies on the financial support of our rowing families and friends to deliver youth rowing programs with exceptional coaching staff. Registration fees for our rowers covers rent, insurance, other administrative fees, and most of our coaches' compensation. We fundraise throughout the year to cover the balance of our operating expenses and acquire new inventory.

Update from skylarhrichards
Dear Friends and Family, As some of you might know, I have been involved in rowing with Artemis for 3 years. I love the sport and the Artemis community. I am writing to request your charitable contribution in support Artemis Rowing's annual Ergathon. My fundraising goal this year is $500. Money raised this year will go towards new boats and equipment to help our teams train better and race competitively. Please check out my webpage at https://www.piggybackr.com/users/skylarhrichards/fundraisers/.... I would love for you to follow my progress or pass this on to your friends or business contacts who might be interested in either sponsoring us or helping spread the word about my fundraiser. Thank you for your support. Sincerely, Skylar Richards
