We're raising money for the
SWIS Fall Networking Dinner
fundraiser led by
Sarah Tulga, SWIS President
SWIS, Society of Women in Science, is a professional development club for undergraduate women in the STEM fields at UC Berkeley. We provide basic information and support regarding careers beyond college. We provide academic support, leadership training, educational and career focused workshops, professor interviews, networking events, and work with community outreach events.
What I'm Raising Money For
The Fall Networking Dinner intends to connect young women from different scientific disciplines with women faculty and professionals for mentor-ship and guidance. Our goal is to create a space for discussion about academia and other career paths allowing students to learn more about their intended fields and how to navigate their own career path. This dinner will take place on Dec. 3rd, 2012.
Why You Should Give
Every woman should be able to succeed in their scientific career. As women in STEM, too often we see women and underrepresented groups being left behind in the education pipeline. Without the proper skill set and resources, it is impossible for these groups to reach their full potential and choose their own path and career aspirations. SWIS works to reverse these statistics and help them succeed.
